A first taste of Armenian food at HOVK
An unfamiliar menu is easier to explore with a few contrasting dishes. At HOVK, start with spas, a shared starter and beef dolma in grape leaves. This gives you a yogurt-based soup, something fresh for the table and a main course built around a meat filling.
Spas has the gentle tang of Armenian yogurt. The dolma includes rice and herbs and is served with garlic yogurt. If your table has mixed tastes, ask for the sauce on the side. Fresh vegetables, Armenian cheeses or pickles can complete the selection without adding another main.
Think of this as a starting point rather than a set meal. Guests who prefer grilled food can choose from the mangal section instead of dolma. A first visit need not cover every Armenian dish; leave room to discover what you enjoy and what you would like to try next.
